Celebration Covenant Church exists to reach, teach, and unleash committed followers for Jesus. We have been seeking God’s direction for how to best serve our mission, and our congregation, during the season of health emergency our community is facing. In light of recent announcements from our President, Governor and Mayor here are some steps we are taking which include:
• Checking in with our older members and others who have been advised to self-isolate and getting them connected with others who can help them with day-to-day needs.
• Starting Sunday, March 22, we will share an online Sunday worship experience* for our members, friends and families. The service will go up on Facebook and Celebration’s YouTube channel at 10:30am, and be viewable afterwards. Links are at the bottom of this page for each of these ways to connect in worship.
• Our small groups and support groups will continue to stay connected and care for each other. But we will be discontinuing in-person group meetings hosted at the ministry center, and we recommend home-based groups also take a hiatus from in-person meetings at this time.
• Our student ministry and children’s ministry will continue to operate; but again, we have to find new models using technology, and especially God’s original spiritual formation unit known as families, to support our kids and students in their relationship with God as they go through a challenging time along with us.
Of course, at Celebration we love being together. These changes are difficult. We appreciate and will use technology; but we really look forward to resuming our in-person meetings and events when we are able to do so. Until then we are so grateful for Jesus’ promise that “where two or three gather together in My name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). Where two or three gather by phone, tablet, or around the table at home, Jesus is with us!
Thank you for your understanding and faithfulness to Jesus and His church during this time, and especially during the transition to a “new normal” that we may not feel like accepting.
You’ll hear from me again soon, but for now it’s on my heart to encourage you to go to God every day to thank Him, fellowship with Him, and receive strength and direction from Him. He’s always open! And I want to say, let this coming Sunday be Sunday! Set aside time as a family to worship God together, whether that’s at 10:30am or a later time that works for you. But don’t let your relationship with God and your church family get lost during this time. We have so many opportunities in this time of emergency to be blessed, and be a blessing.
God is good, all the time!
