Children's Ministry

 

Every child matters! 

From the littlest to the biggest, every child has a unique set of qualities and gifts that color our world.  Every child is made with a purpose.   At Celebration Church, we promise to help you and your child discover and fulfill that purpose in daily life.

Parenting is important and we applaud you for being involved in your child’s walk through life.  We offer the following Sunday classes for children during adult worship:  "Nursery" for ages 0-3,  "Little Kid" classes for ages 4-6 and those in Kindergarten, and "Big Kid" classes Grades 1-2, Grades 3-5, and Grades 6-8 (10:30 AM service only).  Age-appropriate lessons of biblical truth and values are provided at all levels.

Sunday School won't BEE the same!

We value relationships and we sincerely love before we ever teach. The Buzz curriculum used in our classrooms allows both teachers and kids to grow closer to God together!  Each quarter, kids learn Bible truths they will remember for a lifetime.  Buzz is a two-year curriculum that takes kids and teachers on a journey to explore eight attributes of God.  Kids will know God...feel his love...and cement a rock-solid friendship with him.

Winter curriculum (13 weeks) begins in January, 2012 with God's Word:

Each class period follows 5 simple steps:

  1. Get connected--a time for children and teachers to share and build relationships prompted by fun, interactive questions.
  2. God-sightings--kids learn to see God at work in their lives throughout the week.
  3. Bible Cards--these provide directions for memorable, imaginative lessons.  Kids get to pick the lesson enhancing activities--music, acting, crafts, and games.
  4. Apply the Bible Point--kids discuss how to apply the lesson to their own life.
  5. Prayer--kids and teachers learn to pray together. In new and creative ways, we praise God, pray for others, and for ourselves.

Age appropriate lessons:

PK & K (ages 4 & 5)--In the Surprising Heroes kit, young children dive into God’s Word to explore Jesus’ miraculous birth, experience the heroics of Gideon and Deborah, and watch the drama unfold when Esther is called to save the Jewish people… plus many other stories of heroes from the Bible.

Grades 1 & 2: In the Flabbergast! kit, first- and second-graders examine God’s Word to explore the angels announcing Jesus’ birth, watch the miracles of Jesus’ ministry, stand with Joshua as the walls of Jericho fall, and discover other miraculous events from the Bible.

Grades 3-5:  In the O Little Town kit, third- fifth graders engage God’s Word to experience Jesus’ life as he is born in Bethlehem, flees for safety with his family to Egypt, teaches as a boy in the temple of Jerusalem, and performs a miracle near Capernaum. Jesus’ life will come alive through all thirteen lessons.
